About 40 years of painting experience, and a trade learned as a boy. Frog Leap Painting is George, and George is all about prep and attention to detail.
How a boy with a brush became a painter
At 10, George started spending summers on the job with his dad, uncle and grandfather. After the first summer his dad took him to Canadian Tire and told him to pick any bike he wanted, because he had worked hard for it. That is when he learned hard work pays off.
By 16 or 17 he had learned the trade, and when his dad stopped working, George started his own business. Early on he painted a home for a very particular, well-connected client. He would check his work with a mirror to see underneath. That client could not stop talking about him, and word reached a homeowner building a custom home.
George told her not to come by until it was finished, and if she did not like it, she did not pay. She walked in and loved it, then sent him 10 to 15 homes a year. That work led to bankers, developers and high-rise buildings, which he painted for over 30 years.
His grandfather taught him to never ruin your name. That stuck with him the whole way. Now he is back doing homes, meeting families and seeing their reactions. He loves the change, and he loves meeting the people behind it.
